decided to do a summary of my art from 2012! because i have nothing else to do!!
[january] started off 2012 with a bunch of commissions. most of them i'm not really proud of, but i guess "late winter" turned out alright. i got a lot of shit for this drawing because it had a picture of a glass stein for some reason?? lots of people can't handle a drawing of beer i guess idk.
[february] didn't really do much besides comic pages haha.
[march] in march i completely remodeled vR's website! i'm glad i did, because it looked god-awful before and i finally like it. i had a few people even ask me to make a website for them lol, but NO I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN SOB. this month i also decided to work on backgrounds! i had found a new love for speedpainting from photo reference, so i did a few commissions like that!
[april] in april i spent a lot of time messing around with different styles. i started drawing a lot more loosely and experimented with shading. i also attempted painting a few more times, and failed. but i came up with a new fur style i like!!
[may] laughs in may i finally got the courage to make some characters that weren't stupid fucking dogs for once. i'm glad i did because they're my babies. my babies, you guys. i was also starting to get kinda depressed around this time, and they were practically the only things keeping me sane.. but i won't bore you with my emotional bullshit heheh.
[june] more backgrounds!! i felt pretty good about this commission because i pushed myself a little more than usual aa.
[july] more commissions and backgrounds and stuff. also started vR issue #4 in july. except i completely forgot how to draw comic pages so the first 3 pages look real dumb.
[august] wallpaper commissions!! those are super fun.
[september] i finally learned how to paint in a style i'm comfortable with!!! and then i couldn't stop!! I JUST WANTED TO PAINT EVERYTHING. SO I DID.
[october] redid mars' reference a little. in 2012 i finally made a "fursona" i was happy with. this is gonna sound really stupid but i feel really.. idk?? close to mars??? i just love her a lot and i think she's the best representation of me that a shapeshifting alien cat could possibly be. her personality changed quite a bit over the months but so did mine.
[november] more emo feels and childish vent art. felt crappy about everything all the time always. went to the doctor's a lot. but i feel a lot better now than i did.
[december] in december i decided drawing animals was getting kinda boring. so i started a 30 day monster challenge to practice some human(oid) anatomy and work on my painting stills. i haven't even finished that yet lol. also i drew lots of my aliens but that was pretty much every month.
BEEN QUITE THE YEAR... i hope 2013 will be even better!! ;w;
This is probably a stupid question that you've most likely answered somewhere/answered a thousand times, but what are the red/blue lines and how do you do them. ; -;
i agree with Ferbiedragon... All your work is awesome. you have a style that is consistent, awesome characters, great sense of color, and your comic... it is a very good story. so yes, Awesome*12
i learned it from preoprix, her tutorial is here: [link]
(it's near the end, in the last three paragraphs)
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, and awesome.
That about covers it.
